Don’t stress … we are here for you! While we are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to respond to your needs we also want to be sure you don’t pay for a service call when it isn’t necessary, so here are a few trouble shooting tips:
1. Did you replace the batteries in your thermostat? If you adjust the temperature on your thermostat and your system does not attempt to kick on an simple battery replacement maybe all you need to get things fired up again.
2. Is the emergency shut off switch in the correct position? Checking the basics can save you stress and a service call by double checking first.
3. Do you have fuel? Checking your fuel tank first can ensure we dispatch the right person to your home to get your system running again. If you aren’t sure how to read your gauge we can assist you over the phone before sending someone to your home too.
4. Have you changed your air filter recently? Air filters should be changed once a month during the heating season because they can easily become clogged with dust, pet hair and other particles. If your furnace cannot pull air through the filter it will fail to turn on. Putting in a clean filter maybe a fast way to get your furnace fired up and keeping you warm again.
